Deep River Mission’s Medical Clinics are run by Tina Saniewski, RN. Tina heads up a team of medical professionals (both local and foreign), translators and non-medical support volunteers. These clinics are run four times per year, usually in January, April, July and October. Each six-day trip consists of three mobile clinics held in three different villages. Approximately 100 patients per day are treated at these mobile clinics. Because Tina and her team tend to return to the same villages each trip, patient relationships are built and longer-term care can be provided. Ailments such as high blood pressure, parasites and even diabetes are treated regularly through DRM’s medical clinics.
Licensed doctors, dentists, nurse practitioners and nurses, PA’s, paramedics and EMT’s are all welcome to join one of DRM’s mobile medical clinics.
Pastors and other able-bodied adults can participate by organizing operations, assist in the flow of an “in-take” area, and helping out at the pharmacy table. Prayer with patients as well as engaging with the villagers is extremely helpful.
